Dinesh Lagu has over 40 years of experience in the area of Manufacturing Engineering, most of it being in the Automotive sector.

After completing his Master’s degree in Design Engineering from IIT Mumbai, Mr Dinesh worked in a major Automotive company in the area of Machine Tools and Automation equipment design, covering Special Purpose Machines, CNC Machines, Gantries & Transferlines and Robotics.
Later, he worked in a multinational company in the area OF BIW tooling design and Robotic Simulation.

In this session, Mr Dinesh will give introduction to Manufacturing Engineering and its role and position in the life-cycle of a product with emphasis on the Digital paradigm.

In the Automotive domain, manufacturing the body shell of a car is a very complex process and finds wide-spread use of robotic applications. This makes the design of Body shop or BiW tooling / equipment very challenging.

The session introduces all the inputs and principles of design and also verification & validation of design in the BiW tooling domain.
